The 18-hole golf course is popular among locals and visitors for its challenging layout and scenic views.
The refurbished clubhouse provides a relaxed bar and restaurant serving locally sourced dishes.
Proximity to outdoor activities, including cycling, kayaking, and walking trails in the Forest of Dean.
Family-friendly accommodations with options for interconnected rooms and child menus.
Cons
No spa or swimming pool on-site.
Some rooms may face the parking area rather than scenic views.
“The setting strikes me as wonderfully relaxing, with golf course views and substantial rooms that include useful extras like mini-fridges and balconies in some. I found it notable how often the staff were mentioned as being genuinely helpful, and the food seems a reliable highlight, especially given the very reasonable prices. For a Forest of Dean visit with easy parking and that classic, unstuffy hotel feel, it's a strong contender.”
